This is a book-creating project on the gospel which means “the good news.” During this project, you will go through the gospel message step by step, and at the end, you will have a beautiful, creative book full of biblical truth that you can share with your family and friends.
This is a great family project. The book questions are simple enough to ask your 5 year old. That means your small child can enjoy becoming an author! Also, your teenager can answer them in more detail and complete this course independently. Teen and adult writers will benefit from the Scripture sections.
Please open your favorite Document or Notes app to write your story. Of course, you can grab a piece of paper and write by hand too! Then answer the questions that follow. In Lesson 1, we will get ready to write and learn some facts behind the Bible’s truth. Starting in Lesson 2, we will write our content. Use the quizzes to test your understanding after each lesson.
Let’s get started.
Questions
1. Who are you writing to? In other words, who will be your audience? It might be you!
2. About how many sentences per page will your audience enjoy reading? Remember, we all love pictures, so it’s best to leave room for them while keeping a reasonable font size.
3. Who will be your main character? You might choose an animal as a main character or choose a boy or girl of any age. Using an animal opens the door to some fun pictures! Human characters work well too. They can even be members of our own families which allows us to use family pictures in our book. Both ways turn out wonderfully.
4. Your main character is going to have a conversation with a wise character, an elder. If you use an animal character it could be from the same species or another species that makes sense. Take the time to choose this wise character.
5. Finally, let’s establish your goals. Write down three goals you have for this project. Here are some ideas: learning the gospel, learning how to share the gospel, creating a gift book, improving in reading and writing skills, answering spiritual questions or diving deep into the gospel. Keep in mind that you can create this book in a poetic format too.
Scriptures to Study
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
“Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” Proverbs 30:5
“All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be equipped, having been thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 1 Timothy 3:16-17
Jesus said: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:28-30
That’s the end of Lesson 1! Take a break now. Choosing your main character and your personal goals are big decisions, so take some time to muse, consider all your options and make your final choices.
As we have time and resources, we offer free book-creating services including a free book! This is only available for a limited number of people who are located in the U.S. After you have finished your book, CONTACT US to submit your book for consideration.
