Our Mission
We at Bird Room Books help kids create beautiful children’s books so that they’ll love the Bible. Creating books based on Scripture is a wonderful way to improve reading and writing skills too. Our heart’s desire is to guide families into talking about Jesus as together you learn the truths of the Bible. Ultimately, your books will be special gifts you can use to share Jesus with others.
Our Services
BOOK CREATION: Does your child need practice reading and writing? Do you long for them to know and walk with Jesus? Use our subscription service or our FREE COURSE to write your Christian book. Then, we are here to help with book publishing. We will do all the formatting and proofing for you. It’s easy and affordable, and our glossy, softcover books look just like those in the bookstores. They make great gifts!
GET A CUSTOMIZED STORY KIT: If your child is going through something right now such as like the loss of a pet or loved one, peer challenges or faith-based questions, we can write a customized story kit for you.
GET TUTORING. If your child would benefit from one-to-one help, we can meet online for 30-minute lessons. We’ll ask your child questions to develop the story, and we can do this while teaching the reading or writing skills that your child needs.
How can we help?
In general, we charge about $65 for book creation which includes your proof copy of a softcover book, and we charge $70/hour for tutoring (book-writing works well with 30 minute sessions). Our subscription is only $5.95 a month or $25 for the whole year.
We keep our prices affordable, but projects vary. For example, book creation takes about two hours if you send us all the materials, but if we find the pictures and develop the story for you, we’ll need more time to do that. Also, you might want an online book (which costs less) or a hardcover book (which costs more). You might even want two services, like tutoring and book creation, and we’ll give you a discounted rate for choosing two. But don’t worry! You do not have to know all these things now. Biblical verses form the basis of every story kit. We wish to teach this core value: we cannot make the Bible conform to our stories, but rather, we need to conform our hearts to the Bible and meditate on the Word. In this, we follow the lead of the apostle Paul who wrote, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2.
As you and your child work on this book together, you are practicing a form of meditation that will help renew or “make new” your minds in the love and grace of Jesus and His wonderful ways!
