Here’s a deer-inspired story based on two beloved sisters from the gospel of Luke. We learn about an amazing, wonderful stag named Red and two does, Mary and Martha, who feel intensely drawn to him. After Martha stands in the distance, obeying the rules of deer-land rather than her heart, Red tells her that Mary chose the better part.
This beautiful book models how short, simple stories from the bible can be retold with animal analogies. As we do this, we must be careful to remain true to the Word. The effort it takes to do that, for both student and teacher, is an intense and worthwhile learning experience.
